In late December, the City of Philadelphia was named the 9th most bikeable city in the US, and the most bikeable city with a population over 1 million people. This is a great achievement, and shows the progress of several initiatives sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and the Utilities and Streets Department. The city also received a grant from the US Department of Transportation to help fill gaps in the region’s biking and walking trail networks.
