Winning the Thermostat Wars

First and foremost, I want to wish everybody Happy Holidays and a wonderful new year. I would also like to thank all of you who read my articles from time to time. I hope you find them helpful in your working environment.

And now that we’ve finally arrived at the holidays, we are getting into the heating season again and we go back to the same old question “Am I comfortable in my office?” I have been to many buildings lately where a lot of people are not very comfortable. They do not feel a lot of air coming out of the air diffusers in their office but the guy next door has a lot of air coming out, it is blazing hot, and the thermostat is in his office. At that point it becomes a battle royale to get comfortable. And since possession of the thermostat is nine-tenths of the law, our poor shivering friend eventually gives up with a space heater under their desk without anyone knowing to get spot heating. Have you seen this scenario?

No matter where you are, every office space is different, every person is different, every need is different for heating and cooling. An engineer can get it close when he designs a system but the needs of individual people are not in his calculator.

Oliver can make changes in your system to make things more comfortable with our NBC Certified balancing department. We will come in, take airflow readings as a survey in your space and determine problem areas. We will then diagnose the problem area and work closely with the customer to come up with an action plan to distribute the airflow to the right places. Because how we distribute the air is the key to an efficient heating system, and an efficient and comfortable working staff. Email me today to find out how I can help you win the thermostat war in your office!

Thank you for entrusting Oliver Mechanical for all of your commercial mechanical needs. Please don’t hesitate to call us with any questions or comments.
