* SEER – Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It measures cooling performance on air conditioners, heat pumps and gas/electric package products. When you’re in the market for an air conditioner, be sure to compare SEER ratings for efficiency.

** HSPF – Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. It is a measure of the average number of BTU’s of heat delivered for every Watt-Hour of electricity used by the heat pump over the heating season. Compare HSPF ratings when you are planning on buying your next heat pump.
