The HVAC Systems We Install
Oliver installs a full range of HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and boilers. We can replace your current system with similar but newer technology. Our team can also convert you to a different technology, and we can switch you from electricity to natural gas and vice versa.
Air Conditioners
The EPA estimates that the average household will reduce their energy costs by at least 20% annually by investing in a new air conditioner, and the savings can be much higher than that for many homes. In order to be ENERGY STAR certified, an air conditioner must have a SEER rating of 15 or greater, and there are many air conditioning systems available with a SEER rating above 20.
Furnaces
Furnaces are still the most prevalent way to heat homes in the Delaware Valley. Gas furnaces are generally preferred in colder climates like ours, but electric furnaces are available as well. In order to be ENERGY STAR certified, a gas furnace in the U.S. North must have a rating of at least 95% AFUE, and there are high-efficiency furnaces with AFUE ratings as high as 98.5%.
Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are electric systems that can both heat and cool a home. Air-source heat pumps must have a SEER rating of at least 15 and an HSPF rating of at least 8.5 in order to be ENERGY STAR certified. Heat pumps are highly efficient and have become more prevalent in the U.S. North as advancements allow them to operate efficiently at colder temperatures. A heat pump can also be paired with an auxiliary heating system.
Boilers
Both hot water and steam boilers are popular in the Delaware Valley. Many homes with boilers have baseboard radiators, but radiant floor heating has become more prevalent as well. In order to be ENERGY STAR certified, an oil boiler must have an AFUE rating of 87% or greater and a gas boiler must have an AFUE rating of 90% or greater.
Protect Your Investment With HVAC Maintenance
The best way to maximize your investment in HVAC replacement is to schedule Oliver for routine maintenance. We recommend seasonal maintenance twice a year. Ideally, you should have your air conditioner or heat pump serviced in spring prior to the cooling season and your heating system serviced in autumn prior to the heating season. During a tune-up, we’ll perform a multipoint inspection, clean your system, correct any wear and tear, and discuss the state of your equipment with you. Tune-ups pay for themselves since they ensure efficient operation and thus lower month-to-month costs, and they help to extend the life of your equipment. Oliver also offers a maintenance plan that helps you save money and keep your HVAC equipment on schedule. As a plan member, you’ll also receive a wide range of additional benefits, including priority service and a discount on diagnostic fees and repairs.
