Oliver Heating & Cooling’s 23rd Annual Heat for the Holidays Campaign
For the past 23 years, Oliver Heating & Cooling of Morton, PA, has extended a helping hand during the holiday season to local families in need. The Heat for the Holidays program reaches out to local community leaders, residents, and social media to identify families who are in need of a new heating system but cannot afford the cost of replacement. Equipment manufacturers, supply houses, and a local financial institution donate finances, equipment, materials, and supplies, and all of the labor for installation is donated by Oliver employees.
On the second Saturday in January, Oliver installers and technicians will gather before dawn to begin loading trucks with equipment for the day’s work. The group then gathers for breakfast and a prayer to bless the day’s work, an Oliver tradition at the start of each meeting and company event. The Heat for the Holidays program is a celebration of giving throughout the company. In addition to the field employees who donate their time and expertise, office staff and family members participate in a “support team” that organizes and distributes additional holiday cheer to the recipients of the free heating systems.
Each installation is complete, and 100% free to the recipients. In the previous years of operating the program, 65 heating systems have been donated to families in need throughout the Delaware Valley. Heat for the Holidays is one of the most anticipated days on the Oliver calendar, and a tradition that the company hopes to continue for years to come.
Bernie Sweeney, Senior Vice President at Oliver, shared his thoughts about the teamwork that makes this program possible. “I want to thank our local business partners, especially WSFS Bank that has supported this program financially for many years and Lennox Industries, Lyon Conklin, US Supply, and J Lorber Supply who contributed equipment and materials to make it possible for us to supply these systems at no charge to deserving families. And I particularly want to thank the Oliver employees who donate their time on a Saturday to complete the installations. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in making this program a success and look forward to another great season!”
